Welcome to the Podcasting Wiki

So, what's a "Wiki"?

A wiki is a website in which the content can be edited by anyone, not just the creator of the site. Wikis are supposed to be simple and accessible so that all that levels of computer users can participate. Some wikis are open to the public, and others (like this one) are private and can only be edited by the members. Wikis are being used in education and the corporate world as a venue for collaborative works.
Note - "Wiki" is Hawaiian for quick.

How are we going to use the podcasting wiki?

This space has been created to serve as a place where we can exchange ideas and collaborate outside of our regular meeting times. I'd like to encourage all of you to post away--this is an experiment to see how wikis/blogs could work for us. Share your experiences, resources, links, etc. that we can all benefit from!

Are there rules?

There are no rules! The more you edit and contribute, the more you will understand how to use the wiki and add to the collaborative experience. So post often! And watch the site--this is an experiment, so it will change often! Remember, it is possible to delete other people's contributions when you "edit" pages so please be respectful and make sure you do not inadvertantly delete other people's contributions.

Ready to get started?

**Note--wikispaces works best with FireFox or Internet Explorer. It does not work well with Safari.
  1. Use the navigation bar on the left to view pages in the space.
  2. You can comment on any page by clicking "Comment" at the top of the page. You DO have to be a member of wikispaces to post comments. Becoming a member is free, just go to the wikispaces home page and sign up (create a username and password and enter your email). You will be sent a confirmation via email.
  3. You can add content by navigating to any page and clicking "Edit" at the top of each page. You can edit the pages in the simple text editor provided and then click "save" at the bottom of the page. You do not have to be a member of wikispaces to edit pages.
  4. You can add images to your page by uploading files and then adding the tag when you edit your page.
  5. To view the changes that have already been made click on "History" at the top of the page. This will allow you to view all the versions of the page that have ever existed. That way, if we make a mistake, we can go back and get the older version.

Portions of this page were copied from Susan Clines itec wikispace. I liked the way she formatted and explained the use of a wikispace, so I adapted her home page for ours. Thanks Susan!
